Hey Guys, Welcome back to SlogVlog! As we all know Virat Kohli resigned as the Indian Test Cricket captain on January 15th 2022. So, in today’s post we’ll be talking about 4 players who can replace Virat Kohli as the test captain. So let’s get going with the post!
1. KL Rahul:
KL Rahul has now been appointed as the Vice Captain of the Indian Cricket Team. As we all know he had become the captain of Team India in the second test against South Africa because Virat Kohli had a back spasm. So we got to see a glimpse of his captaincy skills. And he was even captain of the Punjab Kings in the 2020 Dream 11 IPL and the 2021 Vivo IPL. So now with a two and a half year experience as captain KL Rahul will definitely one of the strong choices to replace King Kohli as captain.

2. Rohit Sharma:
Rohit Sharma who is the current Captain of the Indian Cricket Team in the limited overs department will definitely be on BCCI’s radar as a replacement for Kohli as Test Cricket captain. Rohit made his comeback to Test Cricket in late 2018 against Australia and since then he has been a regular player in the Test squad. Rohit Sharma who is right now in India will for sure be one of the options as replacement for Kohli.

3. Rishabh Pant:
Rishabh Pant will also be considered as one of the options. This is because of his successful stint as the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the 2021 Vivo IPL. Rishabh Pant took DC till the qualifier 2, but unfortunately they lost the match to Kolkata Knight Kniders. Rishabh Pant is one of the players DC retained this year. So considering his successful stint as captain of DC, Rishabh Pant will definitely be one of BCCI’s choices to replace Virat Kohli as the Indian Skipper of the test side.

4. Ajinkya Rahane:
I know this option will 99.9 percent not be there, but Ajinkya Rahane deserves to be at least an option if not the captain. This man right here led Team India to brilliant series win against Australia in 2021. So just because he is not in form he was removed as Vice Captain of the Indian test team and he is on the verge of being dropped from the team. Why? Even Dhoni wasn’t in form in 2018 then why he wasn’t dropped? He also had a string of low scores from the start of 2018 against South Africa to late 2018 against West Indies? Why didn’t we drop him? Rahane on the other hand has not been in form for few months and we are so eager to drop him? I am not saying you should have dropped Dhoni in 2018. BCCI supported him and let him play and he came back into form against Australia in 2019. So please give Rahane also a opportunity like that. If not captain at least consider him as an option.
