Top 4 Chinna Thala Innings: (IPL)

Hey Guys! Welcome back to my blog SlogVlog! In today’s post, we’ll be doing a Top 4 innings post, but this time for Chinna Thala Aka Suresh Raina cause he recently retired from all forms of cricket. But this means he can play in foreign countries for their T20 leagues. We have also got to know that he will be playing in the legends league. So, I am very excited to see him play in the legends league; what about you?

RAINA

1- 87 Off 25 (CSK VS KXIP, 2014 PEPSI IPL Q2):

Even though he has scored a hundred in IPL, nothing beats this innings. Not even a Kohli innings in IPL can beat the class of this innings. CSK lost their first batsman early on, then Raina comes and wacks the Punjab bowlers black and blue and his Magnificent 87 of just 25 balls. I can 250% guarantee you that if he had not gotten out in that match, he would have scored 175+ runs. He would have beaten Chris Gayle’s record FOR SURE! But, he, unfortunately, got out. He would have led CSK to the finals without anyone’s help. But he got out. I remember I was 5 years old, I watched the highlights of that match, when he got out, I was FURIOUS. ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS! I just wish he hasn’t gotten out in that match… This inning included 12 fours and 6 sixes.

2- 100* Off 53 (CSK VS KXIP, 2013 PEPSI IPL):

At this point in time, Raina had centuries in all 3 formats. He didn’t have a century in his name at the IPL. But, this match was when it all changed; he scored an unbeaten 100* off just 53 balls. From 27-1 in five overs, he led CSK to 186- 4 in 20 overs. This inning included 7 fours and 6 sixes. This was a classic Raina inning.

3- 98 off 55 (CSK VS RR, 2009 DLF IPL):

CSK were batting first, the openers Parthiv Patel and Mathew Hayden got out early, and once again, Chinna Thala came to the rescue with a brilliant 98 of 55 balls to help CSK score a respectable total of 164. He also took a solitary wicket. The Super Kinds won this match by 38 runs. In this brilliant inning, he hit 10 fours and 5 sixes.

4- 73 Of 38 (KKR VS CSK, 2012 DLF IPL FINAL):

This brilliant inning went to waste because CSK ended up losing the 2012 DLF IPL final. The then inform openers Michael Hussey and Murli Vijay (One of the most destructive opening pairs for CSK until now) gave the super kings a very good start, then Raina came in and did the rest. In this awesome inning, he hit 3 fours and 5 sixes.

Thank You, Suresh Raina, for all these precious innings and memories. Good Luck with the next phase of your life!
