THEY ARE BACK! CHENNAI SUPER KINGS ARE BACK! THEY WON THE TATA IPL 2023 IN SUCH A THRILLER! THE PERFECT END TO ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE IPL’S EVER!
13 required off the last over, Mohit Sharma was given the responsibility; he bowled the first 4 balls exceptionally well and only conceded 3 runs. Chennai Super Kings needed 10 runs off the last 2 deliveries. Mohit Sharma tried to bowl the straight Yorker, which he bowled beautifully in those last 4 deliveries. But this time, he missed the length by an inch, and the man on strike- Sir Ravindra Jadeja banged it straight for six. Now CSK needed 4 of 1. This time Mohit Sharma misses his length completely and bowls a full toss towards the pads of Jadeja, a little towards the leg side; Jadeja just hits the bowl between the keeper and Short fine leg and starts running because he knows it’s four. And with that, Thala-Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won the 2023 IPL, their fifth title overall.
You normally don’t see Dhoni express much emotion after a title win, but this time was different, he showed so much emotion, and for me, the highlight of the match wasn’t when Jadeja won it for CSK. It was when Dhoni lifted Jadeja and hugged him. That moment was magical. Literally, magical. I have never seen this emotion on Dhoni’s face after winning a Trophy (except for the 2011 World Cup).

Never bet against MS Dhoni and CSK, The TATA IPL Champions!

And if you thought this thrilling final couldn’t get any better, then you are wrong. It does get better because the CSK Captain, the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni, gave us the answer to that question again!

HE WILL BE BACK!
This was truly the best IPL final I have seen in my life. Congratulations Chennai Super Kings, on your 5th Title.
Here are a few of the milestones achieved by a few players in the 2023 final.
- GT Batsman Sai Sudharshan has the third-highest individual score In an IPL final.
- The Gujarat Titans broke SRH’s record for the highest 1 innings total in a IPL final. They scored a massive 215 in the final against CSK. SRH scored 208 against RCB in the 2016 IPL Final.
- Wriddhiman Saha is only the second batsman to score 100 and a 50 in an IPL final after Shane Watson (117* VS SRH 2018 & 80 VS MI 2019).
- CSK are now tied with Mumbai Indians for the most trophies (5 each)
- CSK Captain Dhoni is the first Wicket-Keeper with 300 T20 dismissals. He achieved this after his lightning-quick stump out of the GT batsman and the catch he took of the GT Wicket-Keeper Wriddhiman Saha
Again, congratulations CHENNAI SUPER KINGS ON YOUR 5TH TATA IPL TITLE!
