Pitch and Weather Conditions:

There is an excessive heat warning in Chennai, which suggests this may not be a high-scoring game. There’s no rain expected, and dew is unlikely to play much of a role either. The humidity will be off the charts, rising to around 75% in the evening, with temperatures hovering close to 30°C throughout the day. Batting in the first innings won’t be easy, as the conditions will be quite draining. While things may ease slightly in the second innings, it still won’t be ideal for free-flowing stroke play. All signs point towards a game where a total in the range of 175–185 could prove to be very competitive.

Prediction:

For the first time this season, we’re leaning slightly towards Chennai Super Kings. It’s their home ground — a venue where they’ve traditionally been very strong — and the return of Dewald Brevis gives their batting a much-needed boost. If Ruturaj gets going, along with the likes of Brevis, Dube, and others, CSK certainly have the firepower to win this game.

That said, Delhi Capitals have played better cricket so far and, on form, probably come into this match as favourites. CSK’s bowling has been a major concern, with most bowlers leaking runs, and if that continues, DC could take full advantage. It’s a game that could really go either way.

CSK fans, if you want to Baby AB back in action today against DC, then tune into JioHotstar at 7:30 PM IST.

Until next time!
