Hey guys, can you tell me when is Sunil Gavaskar’s birthday? Yes you guessed it right it is today! So since it is his birthday I am making this post, so let’s start.

1. 221 VS ENGLAND, THE OVAL, 1979:

This innings may be Sunil Gavaskar’s greatest ever. India was chasing a massive target of 438 against England. Sunil Gavaskar scored a brilliant 221 but unfortunately got out when Team India’s score was 389. After he got out, India lost wickets very quickly. The match became a draw. India was just nine runs away from a record-breaking victory.

2. 236* VS WEST INDIES, CHENNAI 1983:

Sunil Gavaskar scored his highest test score in this match against WI. (West Indies). Gavaskar came in at no. 4, scoring more than 50% of India’s runs. The game ended in a draw, but Sunil Gavaskar we saw Sunil Gavaskar edge past Sir Don Bradman’s record of most hundreds in test cricket.

3. 127 vs Pakistan, Faisalabad 1983

Imran Khan and Sarfraz Nawaz rushed through the Indian batting lineup in the second innings. Gavaskar played a fine inning for India but unfortunately got out at 127. India lost the match by ten wickets.
