The ’80s was a fascinating and memorable decade in Cricket. Underdog teams like India and Pakistan were rising the ranks and playing almost as good as Australia and West Indies. In this decade, many young players shined. So today, let’s see few All-Rounders who shined in the ’80s.
1. Kapil Dev:
How could anyone forget the great Kapil Dev? Without him, Indian Cricket had no definition in the ’80s. The 1983 World Cup-winning captain was quickly one of the world’s best all-rounders at that time. Kapil was almost a complete cricketer. He could bowl, bat, field like a superhero. His catch of the Viv Richards is still regarded as one of the best catches in cricket history.

2. Imran Khan:
If you are talking about Kapil Dev Haryana’s tiger, how can you not talk about Lahore’s tiger? Can you guess who it is? Yes, it is THE GREAT IMRAN KHAN. Imran Khan contributed a lot to Pakistani Cricket. Because of him, Pakistan won the world cup in 1992(which was also his last world cup). Imran retired from International Cricket after Pakistan won the 1992 world cup. Imran played 88 test matches for Pakistan, where he scored 3807 runs and took 362 wickets. He also played 175 ODIs taking 182 wickets and scoring 3709 runs.

3. Richard Hadlee:
Richard Hadlee is easily the finest all-rounder NZ has produced. One of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He was a fantastic bowler and even a very powerful batsman. He used to bat in the lower order, and sometimes he would bat in the middle order. Hadlee is the first-ever bowler to cross the 400 wicket mark. Hadlee played 86 test matches for New Zealand and scored 3000 plus test runs. He took 431 wickets in his Test career. He also played 115 One day matches where he retired with 158 wickets and scored more than 1700 runs.
