Top 4 Kapil Dev Innings:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAPIL DEV!!!!!! Today is January 6th, a legends birthday who I just wished happy birthday, nice. Anyways as the heading says today I’ll be doing a post on Kapil Dev. Since I already made a post on his career I will be doing a small post on his legendary batting innings. So Ladies and Gentle welcome back to SlogVlog and let’s start the bloody post!!!!!

1. 175 VS Zimbabwe, 1983 World Cup:

Who could forget this, spectacular innings? India was struggling at 17/5 and there comes Kapil Dev and saves India like a superhero. He comes scores 175 breaks a record and leaves and acts like nothing happened and starts playing the second innings of the match. Now, this is what you call passion. A person breaks a God damn record, but doesn’t react and just acts like nothing happened and starts playing again! I mean like this dude is a legend! And this BCC was on a strike then! What a pity! They had to be on strike when a human becomes superhuman and saves India from humiliation with a bat in hand and no superpowers etc! Anyways let’s get back to the post and stop the chatting.

So, Kapil Dev comes and the spirit he showed was just incredible. This inning of his is ignited the hope of now just his team members, but also the whole of India. This inning was played for the country and will always be celebrated. This match made Kapil dev ‘The Kapil Dev’  This 175* inning is considered as the best ODI innings to date. Which I believe is true.

2. 77* VS ENGLAND, LORDS 1990:

I know y’all would be thinking why I am taking this inning of all the innings of Kapil Dev. This man has scored 8 centuries and I am taking this innings. This question must be in your head, right? So now I will tell you what makes this inning special. India was struggling on 230-9 and they needed to reach 254 to avoid the follow on. So Kapil Dev takes on the bowlers of England and smashes them for 4 consecutive sixes and made sure that they avoid the follow on.

3. 129 VS SOUTH AFRICA, PORT ELIZABETH, 1992:

This was Kapil Dev’s last hundred in International cricket. It was against South Africa in Port Elizabeth. India was struggling or you can say getting bulldozed by South Africa. They were only 31-6 when Kapil Dev came to bat. Kapil Dev made us remember his 175 by saving India from humiliation again by scoring this fantastic 129 and taking them to a decent score of 215. India however lost the match by 9 wickets.

4. 73 VS PAKISTAN, KARACHI 1982:

A match against Pakistan is, was and always will be exciting and special to watch. And in the 80’s it was really exciting to see them play with the kind of all-rounders they had back then. For example, Pakistan had Imran Khan and India had Kapil Dev. Anyways, Kapil again treated us by playing this wonderful inning against Pakistan. Kapil was fearless as usual with his batting smashed 50 of just 30 balls. This was the fastest 50 in Indian cricket then. This record is intact to date. He got dismissed for 73 that innings.
