HAPPY BIRTHDAY THALA/CAPTAIN COOL! It is Dhoni’s birthday!!! So, because it is his birthday, in today’s post, I will be writing about 7 Records By MS, DHONI, which have been untouched until now. Let’s start the post.

RECORD 1- ONLY CAPTAIN TO WIN ALL THE 3 ICC TROPHIES:
Dhoni, as we know, is the only captain to win all the 3 main ICC trophies. The first one was in the T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007., when Team India led by a young Dhoni, did the unexpected and won the T20 World Cup by beating Pakistan in the finals. His legacy as a captain started after this brilliant win.

The second ICC trophy, as we all know, was the brilliant 2011 world cup win, where India beat Sri Lanka in the finals and won it after 28 years. Dhoni of course was the Man of the match after scoring a brilliant 91 and making sure that India won the world cup in style. He finished it off with a six, as we all know. And then Ravi Shastri said those magic words-
Dhoni Finishes It Off In Style,
India Win The Wolrd Cup After 28 Years
– Ravi Shastri

And next comes the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy win. The game was reduced to 20 Overs because of rain. Then, after that, India had a nightmare while batting; they ended up scoring only 129. Everyone thought England would win, England required 20 of 16, and then Ishant Sharma took two major wickets of Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara. Then it came to the final ball, where England needed 6 of 1, Ashwin bowled, James Tredwell missed, and India won the Champions Trophy.

RECORD 2- 47 TIMES UNBEATEN SUCCESSFUL CHASES:
No one can come close to MS Dhoni in terms of staying unbeaten and successfully chasing whatever score the opposition has set up. He has done it 47 times in ODI cricket, with South Africa’s Jonty Rhodes second with 33 not-outs.
India lost only two matches when Dhoni stayed unbeaten till the end. The first one was against Pakistan in 2013 at Kolkata, and the second one was the 2019 World Cup Semi-Final.

RECORD 3- MOST RUNS AT NO. 6 POSITION:
Dhoni has about 4031 runs to his name as a No. 6 batsman, which is the most in cricket history; as we all know, Dhoni is one of the most reliable batsmen, and even if there is a collapse in the top, Dhoni constructs valuable partnerships with lower-middle and lower-order batsman, which helps the team post a respectable total.

RECORD 4- ONLY CAPTAIN TO WHITEWASH AUSTRALIA IN AUSTRALIA IN 140 YEARS:
Captain Cool is the only captain in cricket history to whitewash the Aussies in their backyard. He achieved this milestone as captain in 2016 when India beat Australia 3-0 in the T20 series. Kohli was the star of the series because of scoring 3 back to back fifties in each game. This record of Captain Cool hasn’t been broken until now.

RECORD 5- HIGHEST SCORE BY A WICKET-KEEPER IN ODI’S:
The swashbuckling, long-haired Dhoni truly arrived himself with an inning of 183 not out against Sri Lanka in 2005. Having shown his hard-hitting power against Pakistan a few months ago, Dhoni was sent at No. 3 after India lost Tendulkar in the very first over. And the then 24-year-old went on to play one of the finest ODI innings, scoring 183 runs off just 145 deliveries. He was of course, awarded the MOM award. Dhoni’s inning had 15 fours, and 10 sixes That score is Dhoni’s highest individual score and the highest score by any wicket-keeper batsman around the world in ODIs.

RECORD 6- MOST STUMPINGS IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET:
Thala, as we know is cricket’s fastest wicket-keeper. Sometimes it looks like his hands go faster then light. And for a pair of hands which move faster then light, of course that pair of hands will have the most number of stumpings record.
Dhoni has 38 stumpings in test cricket, 120 in ODI and 33 in T20 internationals. And looking at these numbers, it is safe to say that his record in ODIs and tests will be a difficult one to break for a long time.

RECORD 7- MOST SIXES AS CAPTAIN IN ODI’S:
Captain Cool also has the record for most sixes as ODI Captain. His trademark “Helicopter Shot” is one of our favourite shots and I am 100% sure of that. Thanks to his sheer muscle power, hitting sixes has never been the hardest part of Dhoni’s career. He has hit 204 Sixes as captain, and of course has made yet another record which no captain has been able to break until now.

Happy Birthday, Captain Cool/Thala! Can’t wait to see you smash sixes in the 2023 Tata IPL.
Hey Guys, hope you enjoyed reading this post.
Until Next Time!
Bye!
Thank You.
