You heard it right, folks; it’s CSK VS MI for the second time this year. This match is epic; it’s like the Avengers of IPL, the Justice League of Cricket, and the Wrestlemania of T20s! Before we start the preview for this blockbuster match between the 4-time and 5-time champions, let’s quickly review how both teams performed in their previous game.
CSK:
CSK’s previous match was against Lucknow Super Giants, but it was more like a swim meet than a cricket match, as the game was washed out due to heavy rain. After winning the toss, CSK chose to bowl first. They got off to a great start, with Lucknow struggling at 31-3 in the first six overs. However, Aayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran had other ideas and put on a fantastic 50+ run partnership that helped Lucknow reach a respectable total of 125-7 in 19.2 overs. MI:
Mumbai’s previous match against PBKS was quite a rollercoaster ride. After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Mumbai managed to get the early wicket of the Impact player Prabhsimran Singh. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Matt Short had other plans as they built a solid partnership. Mumbai finally managed to break the partnership after Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal in the 8th over, but then came Liam Livingstone, and he was on a mission. Along with Matt Short, he built another partnership, but it was short-lived as Short got out in the 12th over. However, Livingstone was not done yet, as he teamed up with Jitesh Sharma for an incredible 119-run partnership, propelling Punjab to a massive total of 214 in just 20 overs. Sadly, Mumbai’s bowling left much to be desired.
Looks like MI had quite a rollercoaster ride in their previous match! From a horrible start losing Rohit Sharma in the first over to a match-winning partnership between Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, it was a thrilling match. And let’s not forget Tim David and Tilak Varma, who came in like superheroes and finished the game in just 18.5 overs! If Mumbai plays like that in their match against CSK, it’s going to be one heck of a ride!
