Tata IPL M31: DC look to carry on their momentum against in-form SRH

What absolute dominance from MI yesterday. After starting off slowly with the bat, Tilak Varma came in and took charge, scoring a blistering century against GT and carrying MI to a competitive total of 199. Then, the MI bowling lineup completely rampaged through GT’s batting. It was one of the most dominant performances we’ve seen in the last few years.

Now, on to tonight’s game—it’s SRH taking on DC at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Both teams are coming off good performances, with SRH beating CSK in a dominant bowling display, while DC defeated an incredibly in-form RCB in a thrilling match in Bengaluru.

Now, the two teams face off in Hyderabad, with SRH looking to strengthen their position in fourth place, while DC aim to break into the top four.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:

A belter is always expected in Hyderabad, but we saw how flat the pitch was last time, with absolutely zero grass on it. In the last game played here, the ball raced onto the bat in the first innings and came beautifully, but in the later stages, the pitch slowed down a bit. That’s what led to SRH posting 194, despite having a spectacular powerplay.

Even CSK had a strong batting powerplay, but they struggled as the pitch slowed down, and SRH made things even tougher with excellent bowling. This ultimately led to CSK losing by 10 runs and continuing their struggles while chasing 190+ scores.

A hot day is expected again in Hyderabad, with temperatures reaching around 31°C by 7 PM. If you look at the trend here, teams chasing have had more success. However, the last two matches have been won by teams defending, so it will be interesting to see what the captains decide at the toss.

Prediction:

DC just won an absolute thriller against RCB, and a few hours later, SRH won their game against CSK. Both teams look stable now, with SRH’s bowling finally shining, which is exactly what they needed. SRH, at home, look very comfortable, and that home advantage seems to tilt this match slightly in their favour. They’ve done well at home this year, especially in the last two games.

However, you cannot rule DC out of this contest. They also have a very good chance of taking this one home.

Until next time!
