Pitch and Weather Conditions:
Pitch No. 6 will be used for the RR-GT clash, the first time this surface will come into play this season. Jaipur has been a high-scoring venue this year. RR scored 228 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and 225 against DC and failed to defend the target both times. Another high-scoring game is expected in Jaipur. Dew should also come into play, and the teams winning the toss will likely bowl first. There is an excessive heat warning in place in Jaipur with temperatures touching close to 40 degrees during the day. While the temperatures will go down during the evening, heat will remain a factor.

Prediction:
Well, we’re going with Gujarat Titans for this match. GT have played exceptionally well over the last few games and shown a remarkable level of consistency. We’ve said before that they are a top-order-heavy side, and that getting those key batters out early opens up opportunities to take control of the game. But as we’ve seen throughout the season, dismissing that top order is far from easy.
GT’s bowling has also been outstanding recently. They’ve restricted each of their last three opponents to under 165, which is extremely impressive in an era where 200-plus totals have almost become normal in the IPL. Their bowling attack has complemented their batting beautifully, and right now, GT look like one of the most complete teams in the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals, of course, have played good cricket too—that’s why they’re sitting fourth on the points table. But after winning their first four games on the trot, they’ve managed to win only two of their next six, and that’s definitely a concern. Most teams would rather peak towards the business end of the season than right at the start, and maybe—just maybe—RR have already hit their peak and are slowly fading away.
That said, RR absolutely have the talent to challenge a side like GT. Their batting can be explosive, and on their day, they’re capable of beating anyone. But right now, GT simply look like the stronger and more settled side, and the momentum they carry into this clash gives them the edge.
