Pitch and Weather Conditions:

In Manchester, spinners have fared slightly better than fast bowlers this World Cup. They have picked up more wickets (22 vs 19), have a better strike rate (14.3 vs 19.6) and a better economy rate (7.19 vs 7.94). The temperature is likely to be around 31°C, too hot for the locals but should not be much of a problem for the two teams from the Indian subcontinent.

Prediction:

We’re backing the Women in Blue to take the win in this one. To be honest, there isn’t much doubt about our prediction. Bangladesh have had a mixed T20 World Cup campaign so far, with their two victories coming against the Netherlands and Pakistan, the bottom two teams in Group A. Against stronger opposition, they’ve struggled to make an impact.

The head-to-head record doesn’t help their cause either. India have won 20 of the 23 T20Is between the two sides, while Bangladesh have managed just three victories. Add to that India’s recent form, having won nine of their last ten T20Is, and it’s easy to see why they come into this match as overwhelming favourites.

Of course, this is World Cup cricket, and surprises can always happen. But based on current form, experience, and the head-to-head record, we’re backing India to continue their winning run.
