Pitch and Weather Conditions:
Sunday’s clash will take place on pitch number five at Ahmedabad. It is expected to host a high-scoring game. Only one IPL match has been played on the surface this year, when Mumbai Indians bashed their way to 199 for 5 in the first innings. However, it is worth noting that Ashwani Kumar’s good-length balls helped bowl out GT for 100 during the chase. A similar plan might be the key for bowlers once more. Sunday will also be a scorcher of a day, with a high of 40°C and 40% humidity. Temperatures will drop down to the 30s by evening.

Prediction:
We’re backing PBKS to win tonight against GT.
GT may be in form, but their recent game against RCB exposed a key weakness. Despite a flying start in a small chase of 156, they lost momentum the moment their top three fell, leading to a mini-collapse. They eventually got over the line with just four wickets in hand—but that performance highlighted their biggest issue: an inconsistent middle order.
If their top order fails, GT tend to struggle—and that’s exactly what PBKS will look to exploit.
That said, GT are far from out of this contest. Their top order remains one of the most dangerous in the league. If players like Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler get going, they can take the game away quickly. Gill and Sudharsan, in particular, combine class with consistency, making them extremely hard to contain. And with PBKS’s bowling not at its best this season, breaking through early won’t be easy.
Another big positive for GT is their bowling. It has improved significantly in the last couple of games—restricting CSK to 158 and bowling out RCB for 155. If they can replicate those performances, they have a real chance of containing PBKS’s explosive batting lineup.
Because make no mistake—PBKS arguably have one of the strongest batting units this season, right up there with SRH. To stop them, GT will need early wickets and sustained pressure throughout the innings.
